You eliminate 32 as then there is only one person when u reach stop 6 so no one left for stop 7. The next answer choice would obviously be 64. Which fits perfectly.

if we plug in the answer choices starting from 32 then its 32, 16,8,4,2,1 which adds up to 6 stops, so the next plug in would be 64 - so that becomes 64,32,16,8,4,2,1...we have 1 for the 7th stop. Hence 64 is the answer.

64...because if we go backwards,then if 1 person gets off at stop 7, that means there were 2 people on the bus, which means that there were 4 people on the bus when it got to stop 6..so we keep doubling the amount of people on the bus till we get to stop 1...which gives us 64.
