1. For how many integer values of n will the value of the __expression__ 4n + 7 be an integer greater than 1 and less than 200?

A. 48
B. 49
C. 50
D. 51
E. 52

2. The first term in a sequence is 1 and the second term is 5. From the third term on each term is the average (arithmetic mean) of all preceding terms. What is the 25th term in the sequence?

A. 2.5
B. 3
C. 5
D. 25
E. 50

3. 12 litres of water a poured into an aquarium of dimensions 50cm length , 30cm breadth, and 40 cm height. How high (in cm) will the water rise?
(1 litre = 1000cm³)

A. 6
B. 8
C. 10
D. 20
E. 40

Solution : - 1. 4n+7 would give you a value greater then 1 and less than 200,
For -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, ...............48.
So total number of integers are 50 which satisfies the condition.

2. the 1st term is 1, 2nd is 5 and third is avg of last two i.e 3 and fourth is avg of last 3 i.e 3 and 5th is avg of last four i.e again 3 and all the remaining terms would also be 3. So the 25th term is 3.

3. The dimension of the _base_ are given as 50*40 and water will rise to a certain height in that aquarium, so let height be h
Now, the volume of the aquarium = l*b*h, implies 12000 = 50*40*h, implies 6cm.

Hope this helps...For any further queries feel free to shoot.
Please note, although no boardcode and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable

1 .c 12- cause u count 2 sides and that covers 8 of the cubes...then 2 cubes on each face are unaccounted.. 8+4=12

2. b

3. C

4. e

5. a

6. C

7. b- 3

8. B: cross check plz
50x30x40= 60,000 cm3
total water poured- 12,000 cm3

thus height: 12 000/60 000 * 40 = 8cm
