SC- TURTLES 11 Months ago Karma: 1
Hi Naina
Thank you so much for teh Brilliant explanation. I am planning to take the test on 13 Sep.
Can you help me with teh following questions please. I am posting some CR as well in the CR _link_

1. The particular design of muscles and bones in the neck & limbs of turtle allow that it can draw in its exposed parts such that an attacker can find nothing but hard shell to bite.
A. allow that it can draw in its exposed parts such that
B. allow it to draw in its exposed parts, and so
C. allows for it to draw in its exposed parts & that
D. allows that it can draw in its exposed parts, and so
E. allows it to draw in its exposed parts, so that

2, Traffic safety officials predict that drivers will be equally likely to exceed the proposed speed limit as the current one
A equally likely to exceed the proposed speed limit as
B. equally likely to exceed the proposed speed limit as they are
C equally likely that they will exceed the proposed speed limit as
D as likely to exceed the proposed speed limit as
E as likely to exceed the proposed speed limit as they are

Thanks

You're welcome, Rishi! All the best!

1. I do recall this question from another discussion; I believe the OA is not given as E, although E seems to be the best answer.

A and B are eliminated on the basis of subject-verb agreement.
C is non-parallel: 'allows for it' is not parallel to 'and that'
In D, 'allows that' is not the best idiomatic _expression_.
That leaves only E, which, although not perfect, is really the best choice.

2. In this one too, E is the best answer.

A, B, and C use the incorrect idiom ' equally likely...as'
D uses 'drivers will be as likely that they...', which is idiomatically incorrect.
That leaves E as the best choice.

yeah Naina. I agree with ytoiu that these are weired Qs, but they are actual GMAC questions (retired) & you were right, the first Q does not list E as OA. In fact it lists D.
The second Q lits the OA as yoiu say, but again it is quite weired.
Thanks so much Naina
