Hey Guys - You can try out this one--

If XY = -15, what is the value of XY(X-Y) ?

(1) X + Y = 2
(2) X x X x Y = 45 ( basically X square Y = 45) ( I am sorry I can't type exponents)

Is everybody having difficulties locating / searching new unanswered questions ??

Perfect Answer Doc ...B is the correct answer ...

St 1 : We have 2 equations and 2 unknowns, hence we get a quadratic equation for either of the variables, hence we get 2 sets of values for x and y, and hence no definite value for (x-y) ...not sufficient....Options A and D is out of the window ..

St 2 : substtuting, we get x = -3 and hence y = 5 , hence we have definite value for (x-y) ...sufficient ...

Hence, Ans B ..

It's a DS question

Is 5 ^k less than 1000 ?

Statement 1) 5 ^ k-1 = 5^k - 500
Statement 2) 5^k+1 > 3000
